Our fifth release revisits once again the 80’s and offers a new perspective on all the fuss and avant-garde which electrified Canada’s alternative scene. NOME NOMA is a new language standing at the crossroads of Glam, Punk and Synth Pop. It's two solitudes, Anglophone and Francophone, united in their urgent collective desire to loosen up a province that's still searching for its identity. They are pioneers and free electrons innovating beyond the fringe on these thirteen tracks, either previously unreleased or not put out since the 1980s.
Following on the success of the first volume, NOME NOMA 2 includes ambitious and influential bands whose scarce 45 and LPs have mostly become since collectors pieces, pleasing fans of Punk (Térapi, The Essentials), Post-Punk (Blueprints, Wwindo), Minimal Synth (redShift, Androïdes) or simply New Wave (Men Without Hats, Nudimension).
Snotty and hypnotic, NOME NOMA 2 proves yet again that the 80’s are far from over.
Pressed at 1000 copies, the LP comes with 16 pages bilingual fanzine including extensive liner notes, never-before seen photos and exclusive commentaries from the artists.
Compilation includes 6 unreleased tracks by Térapi, redShift, The Essentials, Androïdes (pre-IKO), Modular and Wwindo (pre-Bündock).
