The Ramones ignited the punk-rock movement with their eponymous 1976 debut, revitalizing rock and roll at one of its lowest ebbs with attitude, energy and a loud, fast new sound. By cutting music down to its bare essentials – four chords, a simple catchy melody, and a sped up tempo and irresistibly inane lyrics - the Ramones blazed the trail for thousands of bands that followed. The band's final LP of the '70s and fourth overall, Road To Ruin was their first to feature a three-minute-plus song, "I Wanted Everything," however, it's anchored by the all-time classic "I Wanna Be Sedated" and a signature cover of "Needles & Pins." Dee Dee, Joey, and Johnny were also joined for the first time here by drummer Marky Ramone, who replaced founding member Tommy Ramone, who'd left to do more producing and writing for the band.
