Tripi, Nicholas: Loud World LP

Loud sounds, but funky ones as well – as Nick Tripi has this way of mixing live instrumentation with really explosive electronics – all at a level that feels as if someone maybe double-booked a sound library session, and the musicians just decided to have it a go with everyone present! The way that Tripi mixes sound waves with funky drums is great – and makes for a very unique approach to funky territory – with grooves that are full-on, but spacey too – almost as if they've burst through some sort of dimensional curtain, on cuts that include "Glissence", "Globe X", "Ghost In A Cave", "Turbo Lounge", and "Ringing The Bells".
