A long-overdue solo debut from Shabaka Hutchings – the London-based reed player who's been making huge waves in Comet Is Coming and Sons Of Kemet – stepping out here with an equally great musical vision of his own! The style here is more spiritual and meditative – as if Shabaka is turning inward, and working a mix of flutes and saxes in ways that are very organic and personal – often using subtle currents of sound next to his acoustic activity at the core, as he bridges a legacy of 70s expression and some of the more contemporary modes on the UK scene.
