Saint Tropez Orchestra: Thèmes et Atmosphères Volume Two LP

Here it is!!! - Volume Two of "Thèmes et Atmosphères" by the Saint Tropez Orchestra. Just listening to this fantastic set of soundtrack-styled funk, with its abundance of library music breaks and rhythms, will make you 87% more sexy, you will also walk taller, strut like a mutha, and possibly put you in with a chance to be the next James Bond. The groove in "Grand Fournisseur" alone is Mandingo to a tee, and "Afro Can" definitely gives the drummers some. Plenty some, to be sure. "Charley's Stoned" has the funky swagger for days. And for the connoissieurs of 1970's French, erm, adult movies, "Les Femmes" has all the sultry, slinky vibes you could wish for.
Recorded to analog 8-track at Studio Des Fontaines, again using all the old vintage gear, this surely eclipses the notoriously funky "Volume One" and it was amazing to hear it being put together over five 40 degrees days last year. Pick bass? Check! Vintage congas and cowbells? Double check! 1967 Hammond M102? Sweaty shirts and Sta-Prest flares? Yes, yes, yes! For all the b-boys and girls there's breaks galore here, and the whole album is chock full of goodness for all y'all's.
