Quiet Sun was an English progressive rock band formed in the late 60’s at Dulwich College in South London which broke up in 1971. In 1975, during a break in Roxy Music’s touring schedule, the original members reunited to record their only album, Mainstream. Though short-lived, their experimental approach and technical proficiency later earned them recognition as an influential cult band in the British progressive music scene The album, Mainstream, also features Brian Eno and Ian MacCormick (aka Ian MacDonald, ex-Assistant Editor, NME, and writer of “Revolution in the Head – The Beatles’ Records & the Sixties”) Mainstream: 51st Anniversary Edition includes a single black vinyl LP, housed in a Gatefold Jacket. This reissue features the new 2026 mix, using the original 24-track Analogue tapes.
