Toronto noise-makers Odonis Odonis are officially part of the Royal Mountain Records family. Across their career, Odonis Odonis have shapeshifted from blown-out surf-punk to brooding post-punk to pummeling industrial rave music, each album another room in their sprawling sonic nightclub. This new self-titled record feels like a convergence of those identities—bridging the bleak beauty of early goth and shoegaze with the menace of their industrial phase. Lead track “Hijacked” shimmers with flecks of New Order’s Power, Corruption & Lies while still packing the weight of a basement mosh pit.
