Murex: Inventio LP

Across 10 glitching, glimmering tracks, Murex redraws the edges of her subconscious with daring harmonic shifts, glitchy electronica, and frenetic orchestral sequencing. Deeply shaped by Nordic folklore, "Inventio" moves through body dysmorphia, control, and a fractured sense of self, reaching for creative and emotional liberation through ethereal avant-pop. Murex deliberately shifts focus away from her physical self, both as protest and tribute to the many versions that make one person. As she puts it, it is not about disappearing or anonymity, but loosening the grip of appearance and letting the work stand on its own terms. Named after Bach's Inventions, which she played on piano growing up, "Inventio" carries a Baroque sensibility through trilling polyphony and rich vocal harmonies. Touchstones include Björk, Elizabeth Fraser, and the kulning of Lena Willemark. Made over three years in Sweden, with collaborators Pelle Westlin, Isak Hedtjärn, and Elvira Anderfjärd.
