After the making of Ascension Now in 2017, I began working on a long-form track that would reveal itself as a darker blend of my influences from space ambient and the Berlin School of electronic music. It became apparent to me that this piece was something different from what I was doing back then, and so some years passed while other new tracks were being written with a similar language. This first, original song was comprised of two parts: "Venus in Transit" and "Amber". The rest of the songs came to me at their own pace during a 5 year interval, the most recent ones being recorded in 2022. At some point I realized that all of them shared a common theme: the force that brings things together, bonding them from within as an expression of the transcendent unity of their complementary natures. This is what Venus represents in Astrological symbolism. In human beings, this force is experienced as love, beauty and creativity, but it works at all levels of being: the creation, transformation and destruction of stars, radiation, gravitation, the journey of sentient beings as they manifest and return to their source... everything is participating in this eternal dance. This music is a look at the cosmos from this imaginal perspective and a celebration of the power and presence of Venus in our lives.
