Fragments of solid matter are explored and assembled, skillfully crystallizing into the impression of a place, alive until it dissolves."- ISOHYET - Kagami Smile is from an Industrial city in Illinois but currently resides in Shenzhen, China. He mixes sometimes fast and slow-paced ambient techno music with blasts of drone and shoegaze inspired noise. His outpouring of work over the past few years has been shown on acclaimed labels such as Opal Tapes as well as Liga Do Vento Divino, Aught/Void, and many others. His music reflects a series of recurring dreams about a missed moment with a stranger and features compositions of urban solitude and beauty on the brink of collapse. He has played live many times over the past year in such places as Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, as well as Tokyo, Hojo, and Osaka Japan.
