Ghost Dubs: Oblique LP

Since the release of "Damaged" in 2024, Michael Fiedler - aka Ghost Dubs - has been surfing intensifying waves of adulation, earning praise from such diverse underground legends as Justin Broadrick (Godflesh/Jesu), Regis, Stefan Betke (Pole), and Steve Von Till (Neurosis). With second album "Oblique", his mastery of sculpting sound waves results in a spellbinding set of alien soundscapes: larger in scale, richer in tone, and considerably more cinematic than its predecessor. Lower, deeper, and moodier, its cloudy abstractions, shadowy pulsations, and submerged rhythms find Fiedler reaching further into his own sonic void, crafting blurred melodies and addictive narco loops into something simultaneously heavyweight and hypnotic. Superficially minimal but maximal in its minute detail, "Oblique" is a record of contorted reflections, mesmeric echoes, and tantalising audio mirages.
