Cruz, Dalibor: Pathos Peristaltica LP
| Availability: | In stock |
Live Adult Ents alum and Windy City resident, Dalibor Cruz trades in mutant industrial crud baked with ritualistic rhythms on a strong debut for new Bristol label, Northfield. FFO Muslimgauze, 5GT, Miles J Paralysis, eL-Hortobāgyi Hortator. A persistent presence of DIY peripheries since 2020, renowned for drops on theeeee cult weirdo hub LAE and with co-production for Bootee, Dalibor Cruz holds his line of outernational post-industrial curiosity across this 30 min LP locked into the more mystic side of his sound. Reversed tape loops bristle with Bryn Jones-type energy, sweeping screwed drums and humid location recordings into an air thick with scuzzy intrigue & stuff, and with an immersive grip patently best suited to the early hours. Ripe for heavily slanted and enchanted festive trips, ‘Pathos Peristaltica’ plays out a smudged yet vividly psychoactive sound that succeeds by its mutant subtleties, refraining from his harder techno chops in favour of stealthy hypnotism and meditative traction. Expect the A-side to execute its function with tattered loops mulched into forms like eL-Hortobāgyi Hortator beating stentorian rhythms for alien slaves, before the B-side unfurls into whorls of distorted John T. Gast-like mysticism and palpitating mid-period Muslimgauze suffused with cybernetic ambient pads. Ace!
