Gold is the Metal: With the Broadest Shoulders, Coil’s vital 1987 compilation, is remastered and reissued. The album was the third in a trilogy that began with Scatology and Horse Rotorvator, with much of the material emerging from the same period of recordings. It hones “electro-erotics of sound,” blending textural instrumental pieces with notable field recordings – including a drunken brass band captured in Mexico and a Thai boxing arena recorded by Sleazy. A key moment of serendipity is found in "Metal in the Head," which features a malfunctioning Fairlight sampler randomly rearranging and distorting the music. Remastered under the guidance of original member Stephen Thrower, this new edition features restored artwork, previously unseen imagery and new sleeve notes, and marks the start of a new reissue series through The Grey Area of Mute.

This reissue will include a 20-page booklet with extensive sleeve notes and imagery, color postcard size art card & square card insert - featuring Peter Sleazy” Christopherson’s original artwork and photography.
