Caveman & The Banshee: Born To Kill LP

"Imagine Nina Hagen and Lemmy backed by Public Enemy's drum machine on a heavy metal-meets-techno acid trip". Nanaimo BC's Caveman & The Banshee (aka longtime Vancouver Island OGs Dave Read and Valentina Cardinalli) have been blowing up stages across Canada since late 2021 with their lethal psychedelic electro punk-meets-performance art live shows. With a 2023 self-titled debut album already under their belts, March sees the second C+TB album "Born To Kill". Co-produced by Rob The Viking (BC hip hop legend/Swollen Members. etc) and featuring special guests Lori Goldston on cello ("Nirvana Unplugged") and The Theremin Man aka Stephen Hamm (Slow/Tankhog/Evaporators) on, well, theremin, the new album includes 7 original tracks of riff-heavy Caveman bass lines and wailing Banshee vocals over top of classic drum machine block-rockin' beats alongside a cover version of Iggy Pop's 1980 classic "I'm Bored". The tracks include themes of lighthearted blood and death, real concern that robots might do us all in, a personal exploration into the depths of a mental breakdown, and how it feels to fit in nowhere and everywhere at the same time.
