Boris: Dronevil -Example-: 20th Anniversary Edition LP

The 20th anniversary deluxe reissue of Boris' classic album Dronevil will be reissued for the first time since its original release. A work consisting of two different albums—an ambient soundscape and extreme heavy rock—designed to be played simultaneously, Dronevil now returns in a brand-new edition. This version is presented as a joint 2xLP mix, available for the first time ever on vinyl, under the title Dronevil -Example-.

Boris comment on Dronevil -Example-:

The album Dronevil was created with the concept of playing two discs on separate players and speakers, allowing each listener to mix them in the air of the room at a balance that felt comfortable to them. Because it was a very conceptual work in which the musical experience would differ each time depending on factors such as volume balance, playback timing, and the distance from each sound, even at the time of its release there were many listeners who could not easily experience it. Although it was highly acclaimed and popular as an experimental work, it had long been out of print, and thus was difficult to obtain for fans who came to know Boris in more recent years.

In order for new listeners as well to hear it widely as both a masterpiece and an introduction to experimental + drone metal, we have decided to release it this time as Dronevil -Example-.

As the title suggests, this is only one example of a reference for playback, but first of all we hope you will simply enjoy the quality of the music itself.
